Abstract

Many publicly available data repositories and resources have been developed to support protein-related information management, data-driven hypothesis generation, and biological knowledge discovery. To help researchers quickly find the appropriate protein-related informatics resources, we present a comprehensive review (with categorization and description) of major protein bioinformatics databases in this chapter. We also discuss the challenges and opportunities for developing next-generation protein bioinformatics databases and resources to support data integration and data analytics in the Big Data era.

Attention Score in Context

Attention Score in Context

This research output has an Altmetric Attention Score of 5. This is our high-level measure of the quality and quantity of online attention that it has received. This Attention Score, as well as the ranking and number of research outputs shown below, was calculated when the research output was last mentioned on 06 May 2022.
All research outputs
#6,039,780
of 22,952,268 outputs
Outputs from Methods in molecular biology
#1,784
of 13,137 outputs
Outputs of similar age
#114,666
of 420,286 outputs
Outputs of similar age from Methods in molecular biology
#206
of 1,176 outputs
Altmetric has tracked 22,952,268 research outputs across all sources so far. This one has received more attention than most of these and is in the 73rd percentile.
So far Altmetric has tracked 13,137 research outputs from this source. They receive a mean Attention Score of 3.4. This one has done well, scoring higher than 86% of its peers.
Older research outputs will score higher simply because they've had more time to accumulate mentions. To account for age we can compare this Altmetric Attention Score to the 420,286 tracked outputs that were published within six weeks on either side of this one in any source. This one has gotten more attention than average, scoring higher than 72% of its contemporaries.
We're also able to compare this research output to 1,176 others from the same source and published within six weeks on either side of this one. This one has done well, scoring higher than 82% of its contemporaries.
